Thrown from black stoneware clay this elegant vase is embellished with a white sgraffito decoration, carved freehand directly into the surface of the object. The carved areas are glazed to a glossy sheen while the dark clay body remains unglazed and matt. The interior is finished with a semi-opaque white glaze. The piece has been fired to 1200 degrees.
